American Gigolo
American Gigolo was a huge movie in the 80's that made Richard Gere a big star and really got Giorgio Armani American & World recognition. I thought I would take us all back there for a moment.
Wonder when this movie will be remade? Enjoy the trailer!

I Swear I Saw A Grizzly Bear!
I'm talking about the very popular Indie band Grizzly Bear. I've been hearing a lot about them and have been intriqued by some of their music so I had to post this today as I read about them in the paper today so what a perfect time to finally get them on this blog.
Originally a Brooklyn folk rock band these guys have a unique eclectic traditional sense of style along w/ some quirky personalities as well. Check out the video below.
Love the bow ties (stripes & gingham) paired w/ the cardigans, solid woven shirts & chino's. It's simple & classic and the bow tie's make it eye catching. Love the stain glass in the background too! Enjoy.

Summer Madras!
Dressed to Impressed...Sparkle Interest!
These 2 were making a statement to the preppy movement that is upon us! I just had to take a shot of these 2 guys.
The guy on the left in fitted rolled up denim w/ blue docksiders, a red & white neat gingham shirt and a 2 button notch lapel glen plaid jacket w/ soft powder blue accents.
The guy on the right in a pair of rolled up soft pencil stripe chino pant w/ brown docksiders, a yellow polo under a cropped 4 to 2 button double breasted slub linen plaid jacket.
Their look is preppy, but classic and not too over done. These guys have style and can pull off anything. Cheers to you both and thanks for the great shots!!!

Are You Being Served?
I just had a brief memory today of a british sitcom in syndication I used to watch on the BBC network. I always watched this show b/c it reminded me of working in my fathers men's clothing store which still operates today and the appearance of the older fashion department store.
It was set in the ladies and gentlemens department store of Grace Brothers, a large fictional department store in London. It broadcast from 1972 - 1985. It was written by Jeremy Lioyd & David Croft. The idea sprout about from Lloyd's brief period of work at Simpsons of Piccadilly in the early 1950's, a clothing store that traded for over 60 years until 1999.
I have atttached a 2 brief clips of the episodes. Hope you enjoy!
