The Button Cardigan

In these early spring months we who like to layer have to ask ourselves should we layer or shouldn't which brings us to the button cardigan. I like a light weight cardigan in the spring/summmer days even if it is in the 80's. It gives me that extra sense of security and style to perform like a jacket/sport coat.

Charleston Prep - May 2010

Prep is alive and well in Charleston, SC. In a recent journey to Charleston I noticed bright colors, of course polo's, embroidered shorts in such fabrics as twills, poplin's & seersucker....seersucker especially! The many of the popular preppy Charleston lines we saw were classic preppy local Ben Silver, Vineyard Vines, Lacoste, Southern Tide & Alexander Julian - Private Reserve collection & J. McLaughlin.

Charleston is a a beautiful city which past leads its architecture & city to the Colonial Period of the 1600-1700's. The homes, churches & architecture is splendid and pristine, but w/ much restoration in progress to keep these precious beauties up to local historical code and preservation the city imposes on it residents and business owners. That can be a very steep price! Charleston is also know as the "Holy City" w/ the many churches it has. The churches are worth the journey to Charleston alone which is also in the "Bible Belt" of the south. The French Protestant (Huguenot) Church is a must see for its 1700 Huguenot oval ism architecture. Here are some pics of Charleston.
